A photographic book of 50 early Kaikoura images from the Kaikoura Museum collection. Some of the photos will transport you back in time, some will make you wonder, some may make you cringe, and some may make absolutely no sense whatsoever – why are 5 elephants walking down the West End?  Yet, what you will discover is that Kaikoura’s history is remarkably complex, and for this reason alone must be celebrated and shared. The book was self published by Kaikoura Museum to commemorate 50 years of dedicated work by the Kaikoura Historical Society who still governs the Museum today.
